Workshop on Bycatch Management and Low Impact Fishing Kuwait

Description of Project:
As a result of requests from RECOFI members to reduce the impacts of fishing on the marine environment, a workshop was held to develop a road map on how bycatch can be more effectively managed and how to reduce impacts of fishing on the environment. This workshop synthesized the current knowledge on bycatch in the RECOFI / GCC region and formulated priority follow up actions.

Services Provided:
Poseidon provided a resource person to initiate collection of information to characterize the bycatch issue in the region, and then to facilitate the presentation and collation of this information at a regional workshop held in Kuwait over 9 - 12 December 2012.
