Description of Project:
A review of support to small-scale fisheries based on case studies in 40 countries assessing whether small-scale fishers are consulted with and provided for in fisheries policy, legislation and management.

Services Provided:
Some special challenges were presented in ensuring that management of small-scale fisheries complies with the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries. Conflicts between small-scale fisheries and other sectors were profiled and information provided on the extent to which small-scale fisheries are supported through subsidies.
