Description of Project:
The project was to create a bottom up initiative through livelihood service centres supporting the capacity of rural fishermen and farmers in Aceh. The work centres on the a 12 milestone development plan commencing from the creation of cooperatives in strategically important areas in Aceh, and information telecentres centres leading to cluster and trade connections for shrimp and largely pelagic species. The work follows earlier cluster development work undertaken by Poseidon under contract to NACA/ADB.The work was ongoing through 2008, as part of ADBs post Tsunami capacity building programme, focussing on the promotion of sustainable activities in support of the infrastructure development undertaken under ETESP.
