Description of Project:
Council Regulation (EC) No 861/2006 (the Second Financial Instrument for the CFP) is part of the financial perspectives package covering the period 2007-2013. Its purpose is to provide the legal basis for the continuation of Community financing to support the implementation of the objectives of the CFP beyond 31 December 2006, in the areas of:

control and enforcement;

conservation, data collection, scientific advice;

fisheries governance; and,

international fisheries relations, including law of the sea matters.

Poseidon coordinated the fisheries elements of this important evaluation.
