DG MARE organized a one-day High-Level event on Aquaculture in cooperation with the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The one-day event took place on 24 May 2016. European Commissioner Karmenu Vella attended the meeting in Brussels, together with Director Generals from Fisheries Ministries and various stakeholders. This event gave visibility to the progress made so far and helped to reaffirm the political commitment – both from the Commission and Member States – to support the development of sustainable European aquaculture.
