Description of Project:
The overall objective of the assignment was to conduct a thorough baseline assessment of marine plastic pollution from Vietnam’s fisheries sector (including compilation of existing relevant data and information in an online repository as well as detailed assessment of pollution sources and characteristics associated with fishing activities) and identify concrete entry points to kick-start the implementation of the Action Plan for Marine Plastic Waste Management in the Fisheries Sector under SFDP.

Services Provided:

A Poseidon Director assisted with developing the survey design based upon his experience of similar projects elsewhere in SE Asia. He was also instrumental in the final two components as follows:

Component C: Designing measures to be implemented under SFDP
Task C 1: Review of SFDP documentation against the action plan (long list of potential opportunities/interventions).
Task C 2: Multi-criteria analysis (short list of measures to be prioritized for the implementation under SFDP).

Component D: Providing inputs into the gov Pre-Feasibility Study and Feasibility study of the SFDP
Task D 1: Reviewing of pre-FS/FS results at the central and provincial levels.
Task D 2: Component D Reporting / Review and Validation
