Impact Assessment of Wind Farm Development in Southport UK

Description of Project:
As part of an impact assessment of a wind farm development in Liverpool Bay, Poseidon provided expertise to assess the potential disruption to fishing activities in the area. The analysis of disruption to fishing activities contributed to a full EIA of the windfarm for submission to the UK planning authorities prior to the granting of licences.

Services Provided:
Based on historical fishing patterns and costs and earnings for different vessel classes, the resulting financial implications of the wind farm for fishermen were calculated. Analysis was concerned with disruption during construction, operational, and decommissioning phases. Mitigating measures was also considered.
