Sustainability of Fish Feeds Used by the Scottish Fish Farming Industry UK

Description of Project:
Examination of the sources of fishmeal and fish oils used to produce aquaculture feeds in Scotland.

Services Provided:
The main element of the study was the preparation of a comparative 'sustainability index' that assessed the relative sustainability of the key feed fish stocks used in the feeds. Extensive consultation with the feed and fishmeal industries resulted in practical guidelines to assist the sourcing of sustainable raw materials for the Scottish industry.
