Description of Project:
In order to create a good example for local Chinese fisheries, MSC China launched the first in-shore fishery program. The overall aim was to carry out a multi-species/multi-gear pre-assessment for species in the coastal fishery in Fujian Meinan Fishery Zone, to provide a baseline assessment of the fishery and identify gaps to meeting the MSC Standard. The pre-assessment report provided the basis to develop an action plan for local fishery improvements.
