June 2005 - June 2006

Description of Project:
Assessment of the coastal sea bass and lobster fisheries off the NE coast of England to determine whether they meet the standards of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as sustainable and responsibly managed.

Services Provided:
Poseidon's team of specialists examined the fishery under the three MSC Principles. This involved extensive stakeholder consultation, together with an examination of the stock status, environmental effects of the fisheries as well as the current management regime.
