Description of Project:
Poseidon was engaged to explore both the resource profile and mechanisms to maximize rents from the tuna fisheries operating in PNG waters, and from other vessels authorized to fish within the FSMA agreement. The study took account of the Maximum sustainable yield from the fishery, its cooperative arrangements with the Parties to the Nauru Agreement, fishery dependency profiles nd economic value added, currently generated, and that could be generated. Outputs included a revised national Tuna Management Plan, and a set of resource rent profiles.
