Description of Project:
Fisheries policy in many Asian and Pacific countries has been changing rapidly in recent years. This project collected and analysed policy developments to highlight key trends in the region, and key differences between countries.

Services Provided:
Poseidon devised a template for assessing whether policy developments included changes to a number of key issues such as co-management, development of offshore fisheries, a specific focus on poverty, etc, and then reviewed and analysed policy developments and their principal drivers. A synthesis report was prepared summarising developments and highlighting trends and differences in the region, and presented at an APFIC meeting (August 2006).
