Vera Kellen is an environmental and fisheries specialist with over ten years of experience in sustainable resource management, ocean governance, and climate policy.
She has worked extensively with the European Commission and international partners across Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and Europe. Her expertise covers fisheries governance, waste-to-energy systems, marine spatial planning, and climate resilience, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and inclusive policy development. Vera has managed the full project cycle - from identification and formulation to implementation - and possesses extensive knowledge of EU funding mechanisms and development cooperation frameworks.
Before joining Poseidon, Vera managed EU-funded programmes on fisheries, marine conservation, and climate adaptation in West Africa and beyond, including the design of circular economy models and coastal resilience initiatives. She brings an energetic and collaborative approach to her work, connecting technical insight with practical, on-the-ground action. Vera holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Technologies and International Affairs from the Technical University of Vienna and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. She works in English, French, German and Luxembourgish.
